The Optimist, an international class for boys and girls aged between 8th and 15th, is the gateway to competitive sailing and the starting point for many elite sailors. For five days, dozens of young sailors will fill the coastline with white sails in daily races held very close to shore, offering a true spectacle for the public.

Beyond the competition, the regatta conveys values such as effort, respect for the sea and teamwork, while also bringing life to the town with the arrival of families, teams and sailing enthusiasts.

On 15th February, with the trophy ceremony, this event will come to an end, reinforcing the Costa Brava as a benchmark for grassroots sailing.

One of the great attractions of this year’s race is the ease with which you can watch the regattas from Platja Gran and various points along the coast, such as the viewpoints at Torre Valentina, an ideal spot to observe the boats in action while enjoying the scenery.
